A man was taken to a local hospital in stable condition after he was stabbed on Nov. 1 in downtown Laredo, the Laredo Police Department said.
Officers responded shortly after midnight Sunday to the 800 block of Houston Street for a report of a stabbing. Initial reports indicated a large fight broke out among unhoused people, and the victim was stabbed while trying to defend another person. Police said his injury was not life-threatening.
Investigators with the department's Crimes Against Persons unit have taken over the case.
