Forney, TX - A $3,661,960 project to extend Gail Wilson Way is set to begin construction. The road will serve as the primary access point for the upcoming Ed Wilson Elementary School, which is located at 950 Innovation Way.
The extension will run from Innovation Boulevard to FM 740. The Forney Independent School District aims to use the direct route to ease school-day traffic, reduce congestion on nearby residential streets and improve arrival and dismissal for students and staff.
The project is scheduled to be completed by July 13, 2026. The timeline is set so the road is open when the new school opens. Construction may bring temporary detours, the article said.
