The Clear Creek ISD board of trustees unanimously approved a $3 million contract with Houston-based Jamail & Smith Construction at its Oct. 26 meeting. The contract covers the third phase of a project to upgrade heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems at several district facilities.

CCISD Facilities Director Alex Aragon said that contracting directly with a district-approved vendor would reduce general contractor overhead. He said it would also allow work to begin before the busy summer construction season. The project will be paid for through the district's 2023 bond, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.

The specific facilities involved were not named at the meeting or in agenda documents. According to city documents, the project is slated to be completed by July 2027.
