The Picayune Magazine and KBEY 103.9 FM Radio Picayune will hold their annual food drive this Wednesday, Nov. 4. The 15th annual drive runs from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. at two locations: the Marble Falls Fire Station, 700 Avenue N, and the Burnet Fire Station, 2002 U.S. 281.
The drive collects nonperishable goods and monetary donations for The Helping Center and LACare food pantries. Volunteers will be on site to help unload donations during the event.
Last year, the drive raised $8,500 and several tons of food, according to the organizers. Mandi Goldsmith, publisher of Victory Media, which owns the radio station and publishes The Picayune Magazine, said the community has consistently responded when the call goes out.
