Homeowners in a Lake Highlands neighborhood in Dallas say an unknown person tried to break into their homes overnight. Jeff Jones said a man came to his home around 1:20 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30. Doorbell camera footage shows the man ringing the doorbell several times, then leaving and coming back. Jones said the man punched the glass in the front door, breaking it, and left blood on the porch. He later kicked the door several times before leaving.
Jones said he slept through the incident and was woken by calls and texts from his son. He filed a police report. Dallas police said they are treating the incident as a burglary. Jones said nothing was stolen.
A second homeowner in the same neighborhood said he believes the same person banged on his door and kicked it earlier that night. He said he yelled at the man to leave before calling police, and that officers did not arrive until 7 a.m. Jones said other neighbors have contacted him about the same suspect since he posted the footage.
