The Permian Lady Panthers volleyball team will play in the playoffs for the first time since 2023. The team finished the regular season 23-9 overall and 3-5 in District 2-6A, according to the Odessa American.
Permian will face El Paso Eastlake at 5 p.m. Friday at Eastlake. Eastlake finished second in District 1-6A with a 28-13 overall record and a 10-2 district record.
Permian head coach Gillian Herrera said the team has played as one unit this season, with the theme "one team, one goal." Herrera said the team beat San Angelo Central 3-0 on Senior Night last Tuesday. She said Eastlake has been winning consistently and plays aggressively, and that her team must be aggressive and consistent to get them out of their rhythm.
