Nathanael Eugene Allen, 26, of Odessa, is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl, according to a partially redacted Odessa Police Department report. Officers were looking for the runaway girl around 2 a.m. Monday when other officers went to talk with Allen, the report said.
Allen told officers he was friends with the girl. He said that when she ran into his apartment, he told her to leave and return to her grandmother's home, the report said. Officers later found the girl running down the street and detained her. She first denied knowing Allen but later said she had sex with him, the report said.
After being advised of his Miranda rights, Allen told officers he had been chatting with the girl on Snapchat and that she said she was 19. He said he let her into his apartment around 1:30 a.m. to hang out and that it was her idea to have sex. He said he began to feel uneasy that she was underage only after they had started, the report said.
Allen was arrested and booked into the Ector County jail on suspicion of aggravated sexual assault of a child. His bail was set at $75,000.
