The Uvalde Coyotes will host the Floresville Tigers on Nov. 6 in the final home game of the 2026 high school football season. The Coyotes are 2-2 in district and 4-4 overall. They needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, according to the story.
The Tigers are 3-1 in district and 6-2 for the season. Floresville needed only a win over Pleasanton on Oct. 30 to clinch a playoff spot. Coach Ilyan Martinez is in his third year as the Tigers' head coach. Floresville's biggest win under Martinez came three weeks earlier, a 34-28 victory over the La Vernia Bears, the preseason district favorite.
For 28 UHS seniors, the Floresville game will be their last in the Honey Bowl. Coach Miller said Martinez has many seniors on his team who have started since they were sophomores. "He and his coaching staff have done a really good job of developing those players," Miller said.
