Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller on Thursday called for Republican Party of Texas Chair D'Rinda Randall to resign immediately. He said her response to Tuesday's election was not sufficient.
The story reports that Republicans lost every statewide race on the ballot, control of the Texas House of Representatives and the majority on the State Board of Education. Democrats are on course to elect the first Democratic House Speaker since 2003.
Miller said he had repeatedly raised voter concerns with Randall, especially about large data centers and proposed 765-kV transmission lines. He said he urged her to ask Republican candidates to address those concerns publicly. Miller said Randall argued that the data center issue was less important than the social issues she was focused on, which he called a serious misreading of voters.
