The East Central Independent School District is asking voters to review their ballots carefully. The district said it received multiple reports of ballot discrepancies involving Proposition A as early voting began this week for the Nov. 3 election. Some voters reported that the district's Proposition A was missing from their ballots, and in some cases a proposition from another school district appeared instead.
The district said concerns were identified in voting precincts 4071, 4087 and 4151, and other precincts may also be affected. It asked the Bexar County Elections Department for an immediate review and appropriate corrective action.
Voters who have not yet voted should check their ballot before submitting it. If Proposition A is missing, voters should notify a poll worker, who can help correct the problem before votes are finalized. If the error cannot be fixed electronically, voters can ask about a paper provisional ballot. Early voting continues through Friday, Oct. 30.
Voters who have already voted and believe Proposition A was left off may contact the Texas Secretary of State at 1-800-252-8683 or elections@sos.texas.gov. Complaints should include the voting location, precinct number if known, and the date and approximate time of voting.
