Maverick County voters cast 9,705 ballots during early voting for the Nov. 3 general election, according to figures the Texas Secretary of State posted Saturday. The total includes 9,519 votes cast in person and 186 mail ballots. The state said that is about 26.1% of the county's 37,239 registered voters.

On Friday, Oct. 30, the last day of early voting, 1,369 Maverick County voters cast ballots in person, according to state figures. Statewide, 7,615,676 people voted early, or 40% of the state's 19,041,684 registered voters, the Secretary of State said.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3. In Maverick County, voters must cast ballots at their assigned precinct polling place on Election Day. VoteTexas.gov says voters need one of seven accepted forms of photo ID. Zavala, Dimmit and Kinney counties had not reported Friday in-person votes as of Saturday's update, so their totals may rise, the state data shows.
