Early voting in Taylor County ends Friday at 8 p.m. Elections Administrator Daniel Murray said the county is on pace to surpass previous midterm early voting totals. As of midday Thursday, more than 25,425 people had voted, compared with around 22,000 at the same point in 2022, he said. Murray said turnout was between 2018 and 2022 levels at first, but has recently passed 2018.

Murray said no voting equipment issues had been reported, though he acknowledged talk of anomalies. Voters should bring an acceptable photo ID, such as a handgun license, Texas driver's license, or passport. Voters who cannot reasonably obtain one may qualify to use a supporting form of ID and complete a Reasonable Impediment Declaration. Unauthorized electronic devices are not allowed within 100 feet of voting stations.

On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, Taylor County will have 20 polling locations open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Murray said voters in line at 7 p.m. will be able to vote. More information is available at taylorcountytexas.gov under the Elections tab.
