Sugar Shack, a candy shop in Bastrop, has closed. The team announced the closure in a social media post on Nov. 2 and described the decision as bittersweet. The shop had been operating in Bastrop since 1995.
In the announcement, the team said coming to terms with the closure had been difficult and thanked customers, from multiple generations, and employees for their support over the years.
The shop was known for bulk and nostalgic candy, handmade fudge, caramel apples, chocolate-dipped treats and frozen treats. It also sold gifts, toys and personalized gift baskets, and offered birthday parties and catering. The shop was located at 114 Loop 150 W. in Bastrop.
