Democrat Gina Hinojosa won the Texas governor's race, according to the report. In an interview with ENOUGH's Stephania Jimenez, she discussed her plans on property taxes, school vouchers, data centers, health care and border security.

Hinojosa said she wants to send Texans a one-time $1,500 refund check per household. She said the money would come from the state's Rainy Day Fund, which she said has grown to about $27 billion. She said the state should keep about $10 billion in reserves and return the remaining $17 billion. The proposal would require legislative approval, and Hinojosa said she would ask lawmakers to pass a bill authorizing the checks.

Hinojosa also said she would push for Medicaid expansion, support repealing the state's private school voucher program and work to end tax breaks for large data centers. Jimenez asked about Hinojosa's past vote on data center tax incentives, and the report said she voted for House Bill 3104 in 2023.
