The Sulphur Springs Wildcats clinched the District 7-4A/D1 championship Friday with a 35-31 win over the Caddo Mills Foxes. It is the Wildcats' first district title since 2012.
The game was close throughout. The Wildcats scored on a one-yard run by Deuce Timmons early in the first quarter, and Timmons later threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Jaxon Virgel. Caddo Mills led 21-14 at halftime, and the score was 21-21 after the Wildcats' third-quarter touchdown run.
The story says the Wildcats made the key plays late in the game to win.
