Two Tyler Junior College musical theatre students, Jamie Luna and Christiana Carlyle, sang onstage with Broadway performer Kristin Chenoweth on Saturday, Oct. 24, during her concert in Tyler. The show took place at the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center with the East Texas Symphony Orchestra.

Chenoweth, who won a Tony Award for her role in "Wicked," asked the audience before the duet "For Good" whether anyone knew the song and could sing the other part. Luna and Carlyle stood up along with many others. Chenoweth invited the two TJC students onstage, and the three performed together.

Carlyle, a second-year student, said performing with Chenoweth was a memorable experience. TJC President and CEO Dr. Juan Mejia met with the students after the show and gave them scholarships to help fund their studies. The students attended the concert as part of an outing with the college's Las Mascaras student organization.
