The Pilot Club of Quitman will host a Dolly Parton-themed designer handbag bingo fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 13, at the Carroll Green Civic Center in Quitman. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Proceeds will support the club's literacy and community service projects.

Tables for eight cost $400 and include dinner and one bingo card per guest for 10 rounds of bingo. Designer handbags will be awarded as prizes. Each game will include a second-chance round, with wristbands sold separately. Cards for a final bonus round featuring a Louis Vuitton purse will also be sold separately. Additional prizes will be raffled. Guests are encouraged to dress in a Dolly-inspired style, and prizes will go to some of the best-dressed guests. Tables are limited.

The club is the local partner for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. A portion of the proceeds will help fund the program, which sends a free book each month to children from birth to age 5 in Yantis, Alba, Golden and Quitman. The club also presents brain safety programs in the Alba-Golden, Quitman and Yantis school districts, hosts locally sanctioned Special Olympics events and supports the Anchors, a teen service group.

Amy Park, the event chairwoman, said the club looks forward to an evening that supports its work in the community.
