Livingston volleyball swept Shepherd on Tuesday, winning 25-13, 25-21 and 23-13. The win clinched a playoff berth with two matches remaining in district play.
Coach Casey Veen, who is in her first season back with the Lions, said the team is trending in the right direction after a slow start in district. Senior Maddie Akers said the team has improved its hitting and is playing together as a unit. The Lions lost a match at Hargrave on Friday but are assured of a playoff spot, according to the report. Veen said the team's goal is to reach the postseason.
Veen said interest in the program has grown, with more fans attending games. The team held a Little Sister Night on Tuesday, which she said was aimed at connecting former and future players.
