Voters streamed to the polls in Amarillo on Election Day, and lines formed at times at the Randall County Annex. More than 7.7 million votes were cast during early voting in Texas, a record. Data suggests more Latino and younger voters helped drive the increase in turnout.

Voters gave different reasons for casting ballots. One said their top issues align with their morals and values. Another said the economy is "not headed in the right direction." A third said concerns about war are personal because their children and grandchildren serve in the military.

Noah Mata, who said he is part of the LGBTQ community, said campaign rhetoric made him feel targeted. Voter Jerry Baldauf said political ads left him frustrated and that they focused on attacking others rather than policy. Virginia Magallanes Dunn said she voted despite a debilitating disease and urged others to vote.
