Polk County now has four game wardens after having two for several years, according to a program three wardens presented to the Livingston Lions Club. Brandon Mosley, who previously served as a game warden in Polk County before moving to Tyler County, said he was promoted to captain for Region 3 in 2022. He is based in Lufkin.

Two new wardens assigned to Polk County, Brady Crump and Justin Cristoph, joined Mosley at the event. They had been out of the academy for six months. Crump, from Alpine, graduated from Texas Tech University and won the swimming and marksmanship competition for his age category at the academy. Cristoph, from the Spring area, most recently worked in the Montgomery County Jail and holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Sam Houston State University.

Mosley said Lake Livingston is one of the most dangerous lakes in Region 3, with a high number of boating fatalities and accidents. He said game wardens work on the water in summer and on hunting and fishing in winter. The wardens also said about 1,000 people apply to the academy each year and about 50 are admitted. A four-year degree and strict physical standards are required. Other Polk County wardens are David Johnson and Nolan Arnold.
