The Olney High School cross country team competed at its District meet on Oct. 14 at Seymour. Both the boys' and girls' teams placed second and will advance to Regionals on Monday, Oct. 26, at Rolling Hills Soccer Complex in Fort Worth.
Senior Ava Stewart placed 7th with a personal record of 13:44. Stewart said she is preparing by keeping up with team workouts and focusing on rest. Wesley Symank and Jaxx Laurent also placed in the top 10.
Coach Courtney Wells said each runner played a key role in the second-place finishes. Wells said it had been several years since both the boys and girls teams advanced together.
