Local anglers are catching many flounder, and offshore anglers are catching vermilion snapper and mahi while they wait for tuna season.
Red snapper season closed Monday, Oct. 26, and offshore anglers are now in a lull before tuna season opens, according to a South Jetty report from Port Aransas.
Local anglers are catching large numbers of flounder, the report said. Erin Felix, an employee at Dolphin Dock, said offshore anglers aboard charter boats have still been catching fish, including vermilion snapper and mahi.
