The Silent Auction Committee for the 21st annual Gala, hosted by the Hopkins County Health Care Foundation, is asking for donated goods and services. The Gala is three months away. Each year the committee gathers a little over 100 items for bidding by people at the Gala and by people bidding remotely.

Volunteer Carolyn McKinney led the committee from 2023 and has now handed the role to fellow volunteer Cindy Lancaster, who is the new chair. McKinney said the auction gives businesses, corporations and individuals a way to show their products and services to Gala guests and online bidders. Lancaster said every donation counts toward improving local healthcare.

The silent auction brings in about $26,000 to $30,000 a year and gets between 450 and 850 bids, according to the Foundation. Past items included experiences, themed baskets, gift cards, sports tickets, trips and memorabilia. Donations of all sizes are welcome.
