Laredo voters will return to the polls next month for a mayoral runoff between incumbent Mayor Victor Trevino and District 8 Councilmember Alyssa Cigarroa. The two were the top vote-getters among five candidates in the midterm election.
Trevino said his priorities include public health and infrastructure. He pointed to expanding pediatric health care resources for young people and to the future of the city's water supply, including its quality, amount, access and cost.
Cigarroa said her platform centers on responsive local government and internal city administration. She said she wants to hire the most qualified people for management and city departments and give them the resources they need, working with the city council.
Early voting for the runoff runs from Nov. 28 through Dec. 8. Election Day is Dec. 12.
