Mario Alberto Morales, an ICE officer, turned himself in Monday, his attorney said. Morales, 33, made his first court appearance on a felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Prosecutors allege that Morales struck Miguel Parra Hernandez, a 48-year-old Mexican construction worker, with an unmarked SUV on Oct. 10. The charge says Morales was chasing Parra Hernandez through a parking lot when the incident happened. A grand jury indicted Morales on Friday.
