Police executed 21 search warrants at multiple locations on and off the island, Public Information Officer Marissa Barnett said in a statement. The statement did not say how many people were arrested as part of the operation.

Mayor John Paul Listowski and several city council members said they had not received updates from police Thursday afternoon. They declined to comment.
