Artist Chris Brown creates three-dimensional works from found objects, a style known as assemblage. He has a new gallery and workspace inside Winnsboro's Culture Club, along with an artist residency at the Winnsboro Center for the Arts. The Culture Club space covers about 3,500 square feet and includes a studio area in the back, so Brown can work without interrupting gallery visitors. The gallery also displays limited-edition lithographs by artists such as Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol.

The Culture Club is open Fridays and Saturdays. Brown spends Mondays through Wednesdays at the Winnsboro Center for the Arts. Brown said his work takes objects and recreates them as three-dimensional pieces.

Brown was raised in Paris, Texas, and previously ran an antique business with his mother, Liberty, called Liberty and Son. According to the story, a 2003 request to create floral arrangements for a jewelry show in Highland Park led him into floral design. D Magazine later named him Dallas' best floral designer that year. He returned to Texas about six years ago to be closer to his mother in the DFW area, and friends with a home on Lake Winnsboro suggested the town.
