A man died after a crash involving a semi in Parmer County on Wednesday evening, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
DPS said the semi was traveling south of Farm-to-Market 1172 and stopped at the intersection of South Highway 86. Officials said a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado failed to yield at the stop sign, which led to the crash.
Officials identified the driver of the Silverado as 33-year-old Gilbert Christian Casterona. He was taken to Plains Memorial Hospital in Dimmit and later died of his injuries.
