Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ken Paxton's campaign has canceled at least three events, following reports of low turnout at several recent rallies. At a stop at Mama's Kitchen in Odessa on Wednesday, Paxton received only one clap during an answer about a lawsuit he won as Texas attorney general. Social media posts said only a few dozen people attended his San Angelo event, and a stop in Abilene reportedly drew fewer people.

The campaign said the canceled events in El Paso, Texarkana and Tyler were due to logistical changes, rapid scheduling shifts and an opportunity to appear with Vice President JD Vance in Weatherford on Thursday. JT Ennis, a spokesperson for Democratic state Rep. James Talarico, said in a statement that Paxton was canceling events because few people were attending. Ennis also criticized Paxton's reliance on Elon Musk, who reportedly spent at least $168 million supporting Paxton's campaign.

Paxton's campaign still plans a rally at the Alamo in San Antonio on Monday, Nov. 2.
