The Texas Department of Public Safety said a crash involving a tractor-trailer happened at about 3:50 p.m. on Oct. 26 along State Highway 349 and Farm to Market Road 829 in Dawson County. DPS said Carlos Luis Lara Rosales, 46, of Midland, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary information from the DPS report said a 2016 Volvo towing a trailer was traveling northwest on SH 349, followed by a 2013 Toyota Corolla. The report said the Volvo driver slowed and tried to turn left onto FM 829. It said the Toyota driver did not control their speed and struck the trailer from behind.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information has been released.
