Midland County will host a free community trash drop-off event on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Midland County Road & Bridge Department, 2435 E. Highway 80. County officials said the event gives residents a way to dispose of unwanted household items, tires and other materials and supports efforts to reduce litter and illegal dumping. It coincides with Basin Action Day, a regional volunteer cleanup in Midland and Odessa.

The event will accept electronics, large household items, metal and appliances, unused or expired prescription medications, tires, used motor oil and oil filters, and batteries. Fire Marshal Justin Bunch said the county wants to offer residents a convenient way to dispose of materials responsibly.

Tire drop-off has rules. Participants must be Midland County residents with valid identification, and tires must be removed from their rims. Commercial shop or business tires, foam-filled tires, farming tires, and heavy equipment tires will not be accepted. Residents should be ready to unload their own tires. For more information, residents can contact the Midland County Fire Marshal's Office at 432-688-4160.
