A Lubbock man, Eric Blake Fira, 33, was sentenced on Thursday to 90 years in federal prison, the U.S. Department of Justice said. Fira had pleaded guilty in July to three counts of production of child pornography.
The investigation began in January after a victim reported the abuse to the Crosby County Sheriff's Office. The Lubbock Police Department and the FBI also helped. Investigators said Fira coerced the victim into illegal conduct for nearly a year, starting in February 2025. Detectives found multiple recordings on his cell phone, some taken in Lubbock and Crosbyton. According to the authorities, GPS data showed one video was taken inside a Lubbock hotel room Fira had rented.
Investigators said Fira admitted, when questioned, that he knew the victim was under 18. U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould said the sentence means Fira will never again have the opportunity to harm a child.
