A San Antonio man who imported methamphetamine from Mexico and distributed it to dealers across the city has been sentenced to 190 months in federal prison. Alfredo Landin, 28, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a substance containing methamphetamine.

U.S. Attorney Justin R. Simmons said Landin imported large amounts of methamphetamine and heroin from Mexico to profit from the drugs. According to federal court documents, Landin referred to methamphetamine as "candy" and arranged for drivers to move shipments of 10 kilograms or more in hidden vehicle compartments.

On July 19, 2021, DEA agents and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers intercepted a vehicle carrying about eight kilograms of methamphetamine and 3.5 kilograms of heroin. Investigators said the drugs were headed to Landin in San Antonio's Indian Creek area. Landin was arrested in April 2024 and pleaded guilty in March 2025. He was also sentenced in June to 151 months in a separate methamphetamine trafficking case. The sentences will run concurrently, meaning he will serve them at the same time.
