Two Johnson County teenagers were arrested this week after police said they led deputies on a pursuit in a reported stolen vehicle. The Johnson County Sheriff's Office said deputies were involved in the chase on October 27, 2026.
During the pursuit, the vehicle left the road and crashed into a nearby field. The two people inside ran on foot after the crash. Johnson County deputies caught them later the same day. Police have not released their names because both are under 18. The charges and the details of the original vehicle theft were not known.
In a statement, the Johnson County Sheriff's Office thanked outside law enforcement agencies that helped its deputies in the search. The department said their cooperation, coordination and support played an important role in ending the search.
