The Knights of Columbus in Edna will host this year's annual Thanksgiving feast, which Mount Olive Baptist Church of Edna had held for more than four decades. Organizer Mary Ann Jones told the Jackson County Herald-Tribune that the Knights have helped with the feasts for several years and took over hosting this year.
The free dinner offers a traditional turkey-and-dressing meal with all the trimmings. In past years, it has served as many as 500 people. This year, meals will be served at the St. Agnes Catholic Church parish hall, 106 Bois D'Arc in Edna, instead of the county's Service Center.
Jones thanked Jackson County for use of the Service Center and thanked volunteers and donors. Monetary donations are always appreciated, she said. For questions, contact Julio Espinosa with the local Knights of Columbus or Jones at 361-782-1897.
