A task force appointed by the executive director of the Baptist General Convention of Texas will send a survey to BGCT churches in the coming days. The task force was assigned to study Cooperative Program giving trends among the convention's churches.
Churches are expected to receive an email from the task force to the primary pastor or the church email address on file with the convention. The email will include a survey link and a message from task force chair Keith Warren, who is also BGCT Executive Board vice chair and executive pastor of Northside Baptist Church in Weatherford. English and Spanish versions will be available.
Warren said the task force hopes to hear from as many Texas Baptist churches as possible. He said Cooperative Program giving has shown resilience over the years, but that years of steady decline have affected the convention's ability to do ministry together. Texas Baptists Cooperative Program receipts through September 2026 were at 97.9 percent of the previous year's giving, according to the convention.
