About 6 million votes have already been cast in Texas, and Republicans are raising concerns about early voting trends that suggest a competitive election. Republican researchers analyzed the data and found that voters who previously took part in Democratic primaries have cast about 70,000 more ballots than voters with Republican primary histories. The figures do not show how those voters cast their ballots in the general election.

Texas Comptroller Don Huffines told supporters that the early vote is not in the GOP's favor. "Right now, it is not going well," Huffines said. According to figures cited during the campaign, more than 1 million voters identified as reliably Republican have not yet voted.

Vice President JD Vance traveled to Parker County on Thursday to encourage Republican voters, especially in rural and suburban areas outside major cities, to take part. Vance asked voters to support Ken Paxton and urged them to vote on Friday, the last day of early voting, or on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.
