The Brownwood Lions have clinched their 18th straight trip to the playoffs. Their seed is still to be decided. That will happen at 7 p.m. Friday at Gordon Wood Stadium, when the Salado Eagles visit for the final home, district and regular-season game. Both teams are 4-5 overall and 2-2 in district play.
A win would give Brownwood the No. 3 seed and a first-round game against District 14 runner-up Lago Vista (7-2). If Salado wins, Brownwood would drop to No. 4 and face District 14 champion Wimberley (8-0), ranked seventh, in bi-district play.
Brownwood coach Jeryl Brixey, in his second year, said the Lions' last game was a 66-7 road win over Waco Connally. Brownwood led 53-0 at halftime. Salado comes off a 30-13 win over Gatesville and averages 30 points and 344 yards per game, according to the team's season stats.
