Organizers are looking for volunteers to greet visitors at Fort Clark Springs when the Smithsonian Institution's traveling exhibition, Spark! Places of Innovation, opens at historic Dickman Hall on November 21. The exhibition is housed in the second-floor ballroom and runs for six weeks, through January 3, 2027.

Volunteers will serve as greeters and visitor hosts. Duties include welcoming guests, introducing visitors to the exhibits and helping with sign-ins. Volunteers can sign up for a few hours, a full day or several days during the run. No special knowledge of the exhibits is needed for the basic greeting and check-in work.

The exhibition will be accompanied by Legends at Las Moras, a locally developed program on the people, places, history and innovations of Southwest Texas. Organizers said the program will also include six weeks of events on regional heritage, arts and culture, military history, film, music and innovation. People interested in volunteering can contact Sharon Wolfe at (281) 467-6027 or sgwolfe@bigbend.net.
