A cold front that moved through the area Thursday brought chilly conditions to the Lubbock area on Friday morning, with temperatures in the 30s across most areas, according to KCBD.

The forecast calls for sunny skies and light winds Friday afternoon, with highs in the low to mid 60s, about a degree or two warmer than Thursday. Winds are expected to keep easing as the cold front moves away.

Cooler conditions are expected through the weekend. A slight chance of light rain is forecast Saturday for southern parts of the South Plains and Rolling Plains, while northern areas should stay dry. Temperatures are expected to gradually warm early next week.
