A man dressed in a zombie costume stabbed two people at 8:54 p.m. Wednesday at Buzz Mill Coffee, 1505 Town Creek Drive, in southeast Austin, the Austin Police Department said. Police said the man caused a disturbance before the attack. A witness told police the man wore zombie makeup and a costume.
Police said both victims were seriously injured. One was in critical condition, but police indicated that victim survived. Police said the man fled in a pickup truck at high speed and hit an unoccupied Tesla Cybercab. Officers later took him into custody, and police said he will likely face aggravated assault charges.
People at the coffee shop told police the man had caused a disturbance there before Wednesday night. APD could not provide details about prior incidents. Detectives are working to determine whether the man had any relationship with the victims.
