The eastbound Interstate 30 exit ramp to Horizon Road in Rockwall County will close and be detoured through early 2027, weather permitting. The closure affects Exit 67A and lets crews build and move exit and entrance ramps serving the Horizon Road area. Drivers heading east on I-30 should follow detour signs and use Exit 67B to reach Horizon Road.
Drivers can check DriveTexas.org for daily lane closures. The Texas Department of Transportation said it will announce major scheduled closures in advance.
The $348 million I-30 corridor expansion will widen the interstate and add continuous frontage roads from State Highway 205 to the Hunt County line. The project also includes new frontage road bridges across Lake Ray Hubbard and is expected to be finished by early 2028. It is part of TxDOT's Texas Clear Lanes initiative, which aims to reduce congestion in major metropolitan areas.
