Rockwall County Helping Hands is collecting donations for its annual Thanksgiving food drive. The group is asking residents to help provide holiday meals for neighbors in need. The drive runs through Nov. 16, and donations can be dropped off at Helping Hands.
Requested items include boxed macaroni and cheese, cake mix, stuffing, canned sweet potatoes or yams, cream of mushroom soup, instant mashed potatoes, frosting and 16-ounce bottles of cooking oil. Cake mix may be chocolate, vanilla or yellow, and frosting may be vanilla or chocolate.
Rockwall Helping Hands reported a 48% increase in food distribution during the first half of 2026. The group said it assisted more than 1,000 households from January through June. According to the group, its Thanksgiving food drive has served about 1,300 to 1,500 families each year in recent years, and its Christmas drive has provided help to about 3,000 children and teens.
