Vintage engines, classic horns and modern high-performance vehicles filled downtown Winnsboro on Saturday, Oct. 24, as the annual Autumn Trails car parade drew more than 100 vehicles and crowds of spectators. The day was sunny and mild, and spectators lined the downtown streets.

The parade included about 45 classic Model A Fords and other antique vehicles from different eras of automotive history, along with modern cars and trucks. Participants tossed candy to children along the route as the vehicles entered Winnsboro from the west and drove around the historic Bowery shopping and entertainment district.

The local antique car parade dates to the 1960s, when the Autumn Trails Model A Club helped establish it. Club President David "Tex" Willis said the club was founded by his father shortly before he was born. The club has since grown into a regional group with members from Sulphur Springs, Van, Quitman, Alba and Emory.
