Tesla will wind down production of the Cybertruck at Gigafactory Texas around the middle of next year, Elon Musk said in a social media post. He said the change will make room for increased Cybercab production. The Texas plant is the only site that builds the Cybertruck.

Kelley Blue Book estimated that Cybertruck sales fell 48% from 2024 to 2025. From January through September, sales were down 28%, according to the firm. Tesla does not report sales by model.

The Associated Press reported that the vehicle had several recalls within months of its debut. It also said Musk's political alignment with President Donald Trump and his endorsement of Germany's Alternative for Germany party drew criticism. European sales of Tesla vehicles fell 49% in the first two months of 2025, the report said.
