Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA) enrolled a record 5,683 students for fall 2026, up 14% from 4,978 students in fall 2025. The college said enrollment has risen nearly 3,000 students, or 111%, since fall 2022, when it enrolled 2,698.
Dual credit enrollment reached a record 4,108 students this fall, compared with 3,497 last fall, an increase of 17%. The college said dual credit lets high school students earn college credit and, in many cases, work toward certificates before graduating.
LSCPA President Dr. John Hayek said the growth means more students earning degrees and credentials and more graduates entering the workforce. The college thanked several area high schools and other partners for their collaboration.
