North Texas quarterback Tayven Jackson has been named The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week for the ninth week of the college football season.

In the 48-41 win over Florida Atlantic, Jackson completed 33 of 46 passes for 404 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 41 yards. This season he has five games with 300 or more passing yards, and two of those games topped 400.

The story said Jackson ranks in the top 10 nationally in five offensive categories: total offense (3rd), passing yards (3rd), completion percentage (4th), passing efficiency (5th) and passing touchdowns (6th). The award, announced in 2012 by the Tyler Chamber and SPORTyler, honors the top offensive player in Division I football.
