Grimes County Commissioners Court approved $749,410.61 in software agreements on Oct. 21. Grimes County IT Director Gregg Cannon said savings from other purchases are expected to offset some recent price adjustments. He said the county saved about $24,000 on its storage appliance by renegotiating before buying it.

The approved agreements include $11,270 for JustFOIA, which will manage Freedom of Information Act requests for the County Attorney's Office and the Grimes County Sheriff's Office. A $367,832 master service agreement with Motorola will move the sheriff's office to the cloud edition of WatchGuard. Cannon said he expects the consolidation of constables' body and vehicle cameras into the same system to save about $7,000 a year.

Commissioners also approved a $77,000 master service agreement with VC3, contingent on changes recommended by the county attorney. Cannon said the agreement helps the county meet government and Criminal Justice Information Services requirements. The court approved a $280,308.61 licensing agreement with eForce to replace the CRIMES software used by the sheriff's office.
