The 2026-27 high school girls basketball season officially began Friday in Southern Brazoria County, according to the preview.
Five area teams made the postseason last year: Brazosport Christian, Columbia, Danbury, Iowa Colony and Sweeny. Iowa Colony went furthest, reaching the Class 5A regional final.
The preview includes photos from scrimmages held Oct. 31 at Angleton High School. First-year Brazosport head coach J.D. Luster spoke to his team after a scrimmage that day.
