North Central Park in Laredo is being evacuated and will be closed until further notice because of a grass fire, the Laredo Police Department said.
District 6 Council Member Dr. Tyler King said the fire is near the dog park, where a palm tree is fully engulfed. King asked the public to stay away from the area for safety and said updates will follow.
No details on the size of the fire, its cause or any injuries have been released.
